Groundbreaking medical research doesn’t happen in isolation—it thrives with the support of donors who believe in pushing the boundaries of health care innovation. Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation has always stood behind your transformative research and recently, we took a significant step forward in growing our commitment to your impactful work by introducing a new leadership position dedicated to advancing philanthropy in this area.

As one of the Foundation’s four pillars of support—alongside equipment,education and training, and upgrades of care spaces—research is a growing priority. To accelerate its impact, the Foundation has created the role of Director, Research Philanthropy, welcoming Laura Gawley to build momentum in our donor community. Laura brings extensive experience in securing major and transformational gifts and is committed to building a robust fundraising program to support innovation at HHS.

These efforts improve patient care locally but also contribute to global medical breakthroughs. With donor-funded research, HHS has led studies that shape clinical practices worldwide, helping physicians provide better care through evidence-based innovation.

Laura Gawley, as Director of Research Philanthropy, is excited to build on this momentum. “HHS has an incredible reputation for bench-to-bedside research,where discoveries in the lab translate directly to patient care,” says Laura.“I’m thrilled to engage with donors who are passionate about driving medical innovation and ensuring that HHS researchers have the funding needed to push boundaries and open new possibilities.”
