Congratulations to Doris F. of Hamilton - our latest 50/50 Inspiration Lottery grand prize winner of $72,950!
As a devoted Hamilton Health Sciences employee of over 31 years, it’s no surprise that Doris was at work caring for her patients when she received the news.
“My colleagues were shaking and hugging me when I found out”, says Doris. Her patients and patient families even joined in the excitement by cheering from their rooms!
Doris knows first-hand the impact that donor dollars have on patient care. She began her career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at McMaster Children’s Hospital. She’s now at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital where she’s worked for 20 years in the same role. She even spent a brief period at Juravinski Hospital to provide support during the early waves of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Doris has always been one to give back so she regularly purchased tickets for the 50/50 Inspiration Lottery. Upon finding out about her win, she even treated her entire hospital staff to coffee and cookies.
How will Doris celebrate her winnings? She plans to visit her daughter in Eastern Canada and throw a milestone birthday celebration for her husband which may now be bigger than anticipated, thanks to her big win!
Still on cloud nine, Doris says she “just can’t believe it! It doesn’t seem real!”
