Serving communities across the region, Hamilton Health Sciences brings together multiple hospitals and health centres to deliver coordinated, expert care for patients at every stage of life.
In addition to providing expert general internal medicine and emergency care, Hamilton General Hospital is a hub for several of Hamilton Health Sciences’ leading regional referral programs.
Key areas of care:
- Ontario’s busiest cardiac surgical centre
- Ontario’s second busiest trauma program
- The province’s highest volume integrated stroke program
- One of only two adult regional burn centres in Ontario
McMaster Children’s Hospital offers comprehensive pediatric care with an innovative and family-centred approach — supporting young patients’ physical, mental, and developmental needs through every step of their journey.
Key areas of care:
- Level 1 pediatric trauma and fast-growing emergency department
- Largest neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Canada
- Specialist support for high-risk pregnancies
- Largest child and youth mental health program in Canada
A leader in cancer care and surgery, providing advanced treatment and specialized services to patients across south-central Ontario, with compassion, innovation, and a focus on better outcomes.

- Comprehensive cancer care provider
- Specialized adult stem cell transplant and cellular therapy
- Leading CAR-T-cell therapy in Ontario
- Surgical oncology and complex hematology
St. Peter’s is a provincial leader in complex continuing care, providing specialized support for patients needing palliative, rehabilitative, or dementia care, backed by expert clinics and aging-focused research.

- Largest in-patient palliative care program in Canada
- Comprehensive post-acute care
