IT BEGINS WITH YOU!
Every dollar you raise brings comfort, healing, and hope to patients and families who need it most. By launching your own fundraiser, you have a chance to rally your friends, loved ones, and wider community to join you in supporting a cause that’s close to your heart.
And more than anything, you’re ensuring patients young and old—even people in your own neighbourhood—have access to advanced equipment, innovative research, and the absolute best care.
Your impact
WHY YOUR FUNDRAISING MATTERS
Whether it’s to fight cancer or support pediatric care, your fundraiser will ensure the hospitals in our region can serve more than three million people with specialized care.
The hard-earned dollars you raise will help fuel the vital work of a renowned academic-teaching hospital and international leader in hospital-based research.
Your life-saving efforts will support the only hospital system in Ontario that provides specialty health care for the full spectrum of life’s journey—from pre-birth to end-of-life.
Where the funds go
MORE ABOUT OUR HOSPITALS
When you raise funds for Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, you’re providing critical funding to enable the best possible patient care in the unique network of specialized hospitals listed below. Plus, the associated programs at the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, McMaster University Medical Centre and Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre are also included in this network.
Hamilton General Hospital (HGH)
Some of Ontario’s most critically ill and injured patients receive lifesaving care every single day at HGH. As a regional centre for cardiac care, trauma, stroke, and neurosurgery, this bustling institution operates at a relentless pace to respond to complex emergencies from across south-central Ontario. With leading-edge programs and a fast-paced environment, it delivers critical care while advancing clinical innovation and research.
Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (JHCC)
Innovation meets compassion at JHCC, delivering some of the most advanced cancer care and surgical treatment in Canada. As one of Ontario’s three regional cancer centres, Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre is a provincial leader in cancer research, stem cell transplants, and clinical trials. It is also a full-service hospital supporting patients with a wide range of complex medical needs.
McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH)
Every child deserves the best possible start in life—and that’s exactly what they receive at MCH. As one of Canada’s leading pediatric hospitals, MCH, including Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre and McMaster University Medical Centre, provides care that’s world-class, innovative, and full of heart. This site offers an integrated approach to care, supporting families with specialized care throughout pregnancy, delivery, childhood and beyond.
St. Peter’s Hospital (SPH)
Compassionate care meets specialized expertise at this hospital. Known for its focus on complex continuing care and palliative services, SPH plays a unique and critical role in supporting patients with chronic or life-limiting conditions. It provides a calm and supportive environment where comfort, dignity, and quality of life are at the forefront. As the region’s population ages, SPH plays a growing role in meeting the long-term and end-of-life care needs of the community with expertise and empathy.
WHAT NEEDS FUNDING?
When you host a fundraiser—big or small—the donations help deliver life-saving care, fund innovative research, and provide essential equipment for patients. Every dollar you raise helps expand treatment options, enhance hospital spaces, and improve care for families when they need it most.

Research
- Fuels groundbreaking research leading to new treatments, improved procedures, and life-changing innovations.
- Empowers researchers across HHS hospitals to pursue transformative ideas that advance patient care.
Infrastructure
- Transforms hospital spaces into modern, efficient, and healing environments for patients and families.
- Supports renovations that enhance comfort, accessibility, and the flow of care in specialized treatment areas.
Staff Development
- Keeps health care teams at the forefront of medical knowledge and clinical practice.
- Provides training, certifications, and education that strengthen patient care across HHS hospitals.

Making it Personal is Powerful
Your story and the reason you love supporting this cause are the perfect starting points for a successful fundraiser. Here are three examples of successful fundraisers that made a big impact, each one with a personal story or connection for creating the event.
Blue Monday Fundraiser
Hosted by the Mazza Team Realtors “Blue Monday,” is an event that brings together the Stoney Creek community for an unforgettable evening of dancing, prizes, and community spirit. Together, they successfully raise awareness and funds for the Child and Youth Mental Health Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
5 KM for Charley Mae
This community run and walk honours Charley Mae’s spirit, celebrates the joy she brought, and raises funds for the exceptional care provided by the Quality of Life and Advanced Care Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital. The event brings the community together to remember Charley in a way that gives back to current and future patients.
Take Out Cancer Bonspiel
For the past six years, members of the Burlington Golf and Country Club have hosted this annual curling fundraiser. Many participants share a personal connection to Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, coming together for a day of curling, a silent auction, dinner, and live music in support of exceptional patient care.
