“We are deeply grateful to the LCBO, its employees, and customers for their dedication to improving care for children and families.” - Anissa Hilborn
Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation and MacKids recently recognized an extraordinary milestone: $10 million raised through a decade-long partnership with the LCBO. This achievement, made possible by the generosity of LCBO customers, was honored during a special event attended by LCBO CEO George Soleas and his regional team.
“Our partnership with the LCBO has profoundly impacted countless young lives,” said Anissa Hilborn, CEO of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to the LCBO, its employees, and customers for their dedication to improving care for children and families.”
The celebration included an uplifting presentation of a photo collage commemorating the partnership’s decades-long journey, with investments to the highest priority needs across many clinical areas at MacKids. Guests also heard from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit’s (NICU) leadership about how donations have provided life-saving equipment, such as ventilators and incubator beds. Additionally, the Child and Youth Mental Health Programhosted a behind-the-scenes experiential tour, showcasing how LCBO’s support has expanded urgent mental health clinic services.
“LCBO’s partnership is a testament to the power of community,” said Bruce Squires, President of MacKids and Vice President, Women’s and Children’s Health. “Every dollar raised reflects the commitment of LCBO’s front-line employees, who inspire customers to support vital health care initiatives.”
LCBO contributions have also funded a neurosurgical microscope, transformed the chemotherapy suite with therapeutic resources, and enhanced palliative care services through an outreach nurse practitioner.
Looking ahead, the Foundation is excited for the LCBO to launch its winter campaign in partnership with LCBO, aiming to surpass $1 million in donations once again.
To the LCBO team and its customers: thank you for transforming care and creating brighter futures for children and families.
