Give the gift of healthyour gift brings hope
Behind every donation, there’s a story of hope, healing, and gratitude. Each gift helps bring a patient’s journey to life—like Michelle, Dale, and Numair all who overcame challenges thanks to donor-funded technology. From compassionate care to cutting-edge research, your generosity fuels stories of resilience that inspire our entire community every single day.

Michelle’s journey.
Most people thought I had it all—a career in IT, a loving daughter, parents, and two dogs. Yet behind the joy was pain: debilitating headaches caused by intracranial stenosis, a dangerous narrowing of brain arteries. At Hamilton General Hospital, they told me I needed a stent. During surgery, I suffered a major stroke—but thanks to skilled specialists and donor-funded care, I survived and have been able to walk and talk again. Truly, I was in the right place at the right time. And thanks to donors like you, I received the treatment I needed.

Dale’s road to recovery.
It started with a small lump under my chin — nothing I thought twice about. But that lump changed everything. Not long after I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and after chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant failed, hope was fading fast. Hearing my son ask, “Is Dad going to die?” broke me. Then, thanks to donors like you and Dr. Balitsky, I received CAR-T cell therapy. It ended up being a lifeline that allowed me to see tomorrow.

Numair’s new lease on life.
At just 32 weeks, my son Numair arrived too soon, weighing only one kilogram. His tiny heart fought for every beat. When doctors later told us he had cerebral palsy, my heart shattered. We longed to give him the best care possible—and found it at McMaster Children’s Hospital and Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre. Thanks to generous donors, Numair now thrives under the loving care of specialists who firmly believe in his potential.
Canada Post disruptions
While postal services will begin to resume, uncertainty and instability in the postal service will continue with rotating strikes.
During a rotating strike, Canada Post will accept, process and deliver mail and parcels in unaffected areas, but you can still expect delays.
The best way to support Hamilton Health Sciences right now is by making a secure online gift, so your generosity can help patients and families without delay.
Give the gift of healthThe quickest and most reliable way is to make a secure donation online. If you choose to mail your donation, please expect delays in processing. Your gift goes straight to work supporting patients and families at HHS.
