About the Stem Cell Transplant Program at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre
Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre is just one of three hospitals in Ontario providing all forms of stem cell transplants to adult cancer patients in Ontario.
What will the new Stem Cell Transplant Unit look like?
This will be a dedicated and specialized clinical area that houses 15 individually-equipped inpatient rooms, five individually equipped outpatient rooms and a dedicated sterile compounding area for chemotherapy preparation. It will also include essential equipment and patient amenities needed to support this expansion. What does the new Unit mean for patients? Fifty per cent more patients with blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma will have access to this potentially life-saving treatment.
