Put Your Support in Place

The Foundation needs your financial support to equip patient programs with the Essentials for Excellence, ensuring that health care professionals have the essential equipment to provide excellence in patient care. Essentials_logo1Below are four high-priority projects across our supported hospital sites in need of your support:

Hamilton General Hospital – Hybrid Operating Suite Campaign

The Hybrid Operating Suite will integrate imaging technology and surgical equipment to support a multidisciplinary team of experts performing minimally-invasive surgeries and traditional open surgeries in one location. Benefits to patients include:

  • Shorter surgical times
  • Faster recovery
  • Less pain, smaller scars and less anesthetic
  • Opportunities for patients to undergo procedures they would not qualify for otherwise

Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre – Interventional Radiology Program

The Interventional Radiology Program is a high-tech and versatile program that supports the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using the least invasive techniques.

Interventional radiology uses a variety of diagnostic imaging equipment such as CT, ultrasound and MRIs, in conjunction with surgical instruments, so the physician can view the organ or organ system while conducting a procedure.

McMaster Children’s Hospital – Child & Youth Mental Health Inpatient Unit Courtyard

The RBC Children and Youth Mental Health Inpatient Unit at McMaster Children’s Hospital is adjacent to a secure and currently unused space. The Foundation has embarked on a campaign to redevelop this space and provide patients with a secure and calming outdoor area, significantly enhancing the clinical care that they receive, while allowing them an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

St. Peter’s Hospital – Shower Redevelopment

The current shower facilities in three units at St. Peter’s Hospital are outdated and do not adequately serve the needs of patients or staff, in terms of both comfort and safety. The updated, larger shower spaces will be more comfortable for patients and will address safety concerns.
