MacKids Miracle Weekend Celebrates Success

Hamilton, ON: This weekend, McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation celebrated its annual Miracle Weekend. Miracle WeekendThis is an opportunity for our extended-community, including lots of MacKids and their families, to support our fundraising efforts for McMaster Children’s Hospital.

Two special events were the focus of this year’s Miracle Weekend: the fourth annual MacKids Walk & Wheel, co-hosted by Quantum Automotive Group Charity Foundation / Mercedes-Benz Burlington; and the third annual Miracle Plane Pull.

MacKids Walk & Wheel had record attendance with more than 1000 people raising more than $210,000. The beautiful day enabled the community to come out and enjoy MiracleFest after walking or riding in support of McMaster Children’s Hospital.

Unfortunately the heavy rain resulted in the cancellation of this year’s Miracle Plane Pull.

“This year’s event was amazing and we are so grateful for the tremendous community support in making Walk & Wheel a success,” says Jennifer Laughton, Vice President, Development, McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Thank you to all of the participants and our sponsors.”

“To all of the partners that support us throughout the year, and on special occasions like Miracle Weekend, we are truly appreciative of your continued engagement and dedication to the children of this region that rely on McMaster Children’s Hospital,” says Pearl Veenema, President and CEO, Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. “A heartfelt thank you to the team at Quantum Automotive Group Charity Foundation / Mercedes Benz Burlington who presented Walk and Wheel in conjunction with The Foundation and contributed to its wonderful success.”

On behalf of the children and their families, thank you for supporting our goal of Health Care, Transformed for the thousands of children from throughout this region who are cared for each and every year at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
