HAMILTON, ON: McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation is proud to partner with LCBO for its annual The Joy of Giving Back campaign. Starting November 26, the public can support McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation by making a donation at any of the LCBO stores throughout south-central Ontario. Donation boxes will be displayed at LCBO checkout counters until December 31. Customer service representatives will also invite customers to add a $2, $5 or $10 donation to their purchase.
“The impact of this campaign is felt deep in the hearts and homes of the local communities we serve, and I am incredibly proud of our staff and thankful to our customers for their generosity each and every year,” says George Soleas, President & CEO, LCBO. “It’s because of their hard work and commitment that we are able to make a difference in the lives of our family members, friends and neighbours who rely on these vital organizations.”
In addition to supporting McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation, LCBO locations across the province are raising funds for Children’s Health Foundation, SickKids Foundation, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Foundation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada).
The funds raised for McMaster Children’s Hospital – south-central Ontario’s only children’s hospital – will help ensure that the Hospital’s dedicated team of health care professionals has the equipment and other resources needed to provide extraordinary care to thousands of children and their families.
McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation will support two special projects with proceeds from this year’s campaign: a Teenage Alcohol Use Awareness Program, which enables staff to better screen, identify and intervene with high-risk youth; and the acquisition of a neurosurgical microscope, which is a robotic, digital microscope that provides state-of-the art optics to help guide surgeons who are conducting procedures for conditions such as brain cancer and spinal cord tumours or lesions.
“LCBO’s passionate staff and generous customers helped raised more than $533,000 for McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation last year,” says Pearl Veenema, President and CEO of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. “LCBO’s ongoing support, and that of its staff and customers, is truly transforming the lives of pediatric patients across south-central Ontario.”
McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation thanks the public for its support when shopping at their local LCBO store from November 26 to December 31.
