Wear Jeans for a Means and support St. Peter’s Hospital!
Participating in Jeans for a Means does not have to mean literally wearing jeans. For you it may mean not wearing a tie, wearing a golf shirt instead of a dress shirt or slacks instead of a skirt. It may also mean still wearing your scrubs but participating anyways. Proceeds this year will once again support the Good Neighbour Fund, providing patient necessities to those who otherwise could not afford them. This year the Foundation has funded $6,000 in patient assistance from the Good Neighbour Fund. One of those patients was Hiep Hoang.
He has been a patient at St. Peter’s on the Restorative Care Unit hoping to find a way to return home to be with his wife, Trang and their two sons, ages 15 and 16.
St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation recently supported the purchase of the equipment required to allow for Hiep to safely return home and continue his recovery. These funds were provided from the Good Neighbour Fund which is supported through your Jeans for a Means participation.
When the couple was told the Foundation would be funding the equipment they were surprised.
“He could not have come home any other way.” said Hiep’s wife, Trang. “I worried about it every day.”
When they learned that the money was from the Good Neighbour Fund they were very touched and grateful.
