With an Abundance of Gratitude | A Message to All Donors From Our CEO Pearl Veenema
May 8, 2020
Today, we are celebrating you – our loyal donors. Because of your support in 2019, we disbursed $31.75 million to enrich patient care across Hamilton Health Sciences.
Our annual Donor Report features stories of how your support has a tremendous impact on patient care across the spectrum of life’s journey. You are our partner as we work together to enable the team at Hamilton Health Sciences to provide the highest-quality patient care.
Most importantly, your support helps patients and families when they need it most. The video below features a special message of gratitude, along with the stories of patients whose lives were changed because of your donations.
Over the last 10 years, donors have helped Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation contribute nearly $150 million toward patient care. This is a tremendous accomplishment and one that we can be proud of together.
And while 2020 has been a challenging year, our donors and the community at large have stepped up in heartwarming ways to support the frontline clinical teams as they provide vital care during the COVID-19 crisis.
Donations of food and personal protective equipment are raising the morale of staff during this stressful time, as they continue to provide essential life-saving care. They are truly grateful for the difference you have made in their lives.
Your generosity in support of our COVID-19 response is awe-inspiring. Thanks to your contributions, we have purchased critical equipment such as cardiac monitors; personal protective equipment; transport ventilators; TOFscan monitors; beds and stretchers; baby monitors and iPads; and other essential resources to support the team at Hamilton Health Sciences.
We are pleased to share this short note of gratitude from the front lines:
The Department of Anesthesia thanks you for the purchase of the TOFscan peripheral nerve stimulators. COVID-19 has changed how we provide anesthetic care. These monitors are essential to protect the anesthesiologist and health care workers from transmission of the virus during intubation of patients, while also ensuring that patients are kept as comfortable as possible. These monitors also play a major role in monitoring ventilated ICU patients. The TOFscan nerve stimulators are vital equipment and critical to delivering safe anesthetic care.
Thank you for joining us on this journey and demonstrating why It’s Vital to Care.
