The 11th annual Climb for Cancer on May 13 was a tremendous success, with over 1,500 participants and nearly 105 teams “stepping in front of cancer” to raise more than $168,000 in support of the Tomorrow Stems From You campaign.
Together more than 2.5 million stairs were climbed at Tim Hortons Field, which is the equivalent of scaling Mount Everest 44 times!
Since 2007, the event has raised more than $835,000 for Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation. Proceeds have supported various initiatives, including the CIBC Breast Assessment Centre and essential equipment purchases across Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre.
“We are truly appreciative of the incredible support of all Climb for Cancer participants, fundraisers and sponsors,” says Pearl Veenema, President and CEO, Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. “Thank you to Brian Humphrey and his team for their ongoing support in organizing this inspiring event.”
