The Cameron Family Award provides financial support to nurses, physicians, therapists, and/or allied health members of the pediatric surgery interdisciplinary team and is intended to support capital expenditures, workshops, education, professional development, collaboration and/or team building initiatives in the Department of Pediatric Surgery.
The award was established by Occupational Therapist, G. Patricia Cameron and Pediatric Surgeon, Dr. Gordon S. Cameron and their family, and recognizes their contributions to improving health care in Hamilton.
To be eligible for the Award, an applicant must be employed at McMaster Children’s Hospital/McMaster University and must be a nurse, physician, therapist, and/or allied health member. Selection committee members are not eligible.
There is $2,000 available to be awarded annually.
If you wish to apply for the Award, please submit a letter describing how you meet the criteria outlined above and why you have chosen to pursue your career at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Please also include a copy of your Curriculum Vitae. As part of the selection process you may also be invited to meet with the Cameron family.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to submit a report to Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation and the Cameron Family on the usage and impact of the award.
