The Dr. Stephen Buttrum Memorial Bursary for Excellence in Clinical Psychology is awarded to a PhD candidate in clinical psychology, who has been accepted into the Clinical Psychology Internship Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
This Bursary has been established in memory of the late Dr. Stephen Buttrum, a beloved psychologist and clinician at McMaster Children’s Hospital, through a generous donation to Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation from the Buttrum family.
There is $5,000 available to be awarded annually.
To be eligible for the Bursary, applicants must demonstrate a client-centered approach to practice, a commitment to working with youth, and the motivation to pursue ongoing learning and professional development. Preference will be given to those who elect to do part of their internship in the Eating Disorders Clinic.
If you wish to apply for the Bursary, please submit a letter describing how you meet the criteria outlined above and why you have chosen to pursue your internship at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Please also include a copy of your Curriculum Vitae. As part of the selection process, you may also be invited to meet with the Buttrum family.
