Brain Injury Patients Supported by Endowment Gifts

Tears of celebration were shared on February 18 at the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, where a plaque was unveiled dedicating the patient dining room to the memory of Margaret L. Durrant. Margie, as she was called by her friends and family, was a patient in the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Program. She passed away in 2014.

Margie’s husband Dennis established two endowments in support of the program: a $25,000 fund that provides financial support for patients and families in need of equipment and amenities; and an additional $100,000 endowment for the ongoing education of rehabilitation staff in the ABI Program.

Dennis and his son Anthony unveiled the plaque with the dedicated ABI staff in attendance. After the unveiling, staff members took the time to personally thank Dennis for his endowment gifts and to share fond memories about Margie. These endowments will continue to support and improve the patient experience for years to come.
