Since 1984, the Royal Canadian Legion Branches and Ladies’ Auxiliaries has donated more than $819,000 to Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. These funds have supported the purchase of vital medical equipment to help ensure the best possible care for patients and families throughout south-central Ontario.

Making a difference

“We’re proud to raise money for health care through our Poppy Fund,” says John Waugh, Poppy Fund Chair for Branch 154 in Caledonia. “We all know people whose lives have been touched by Hamilton Health Sciences and I can’t think of a better cause to get behind.”

Legionnaires also raise funds through various draws and other fundraisers to support the specialized care provided at Hamilton Health Sciences.

“We are proud of our ability to make a difference in people’s lives,” says Marg. “A strong desire to help others is what motivates us every day.”
