Warren Morrison is on a mission. As a member of Hamilton’s Extra Life Guild, his goal is to increase awareness and recruit gamers to fundraise for McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Extra Life is a 24-hour gaming marathon in support of Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals, including McMaster Children’s Hospital. Participants collect donations from family and friends prior to the event, then play their favourite video, board, card or lawn games.
“Many participants choose to focus their efforts on the 24-hour challenge,” says Warren, “but the event has blossomed into a large community that fundraises throughout the year.”
“Extra Life reminds people that we’re all kids at heart.”
Having fun while making a difference
The Hamilton Extra Life Guild is passionate about playing games while supporting specialized pediatric health care.
“Extra Life reminds people that we’re all kids at heart,” says Warren. “Children are our future and we should all do our part to keep them healthy.”
Extra Life 2018 will be held on November 3. For more information, to become involved, or to sponsor a gamer or team, visit extra-life.org. Remember to select McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation as the Children’s Miracle Network member hospital you wish to support.
